Band Booster Club
Mission
The mission of the Boosters Club is to support the activities and promote interest in all of the Cox Mill High School Bands. The Booster organization works with the school to enhance student opportunities in the band program.
Membership and Meetings
Any parent or guardian with a student involved in band or guard is considered a member. There are no membership fees. Meetings are typically held in the Band Room at 7:00 P.M. usually on the second Tuesday of each month except July. The date may occasionally change, so check the band calendar for the latest information.
Resources for Parents and Students
The Booster Club maintains a document repository on Google Drive that can be found here. This folder is in the process of being updated.
-
The "Booster Club" folder contains documents such as Booster Club meeting minutes and by-laws.
-
The "Other Documents" folder contains documents such as parent information packets, the Band Handbook, and other useful information.
Background Checks for Parent Volunteers
For the safety of all students, Cabarrus County Schools policy requires a background check for all volunteers who have direct contact with students (such as chaperoning or pit crew). This year background checks for parents are handled online in addition to a volunteer agreement that must be signed and returned. The process only takes a few minutes to complete and we are asking parents to complete the application by the end of August.
Parents who are CCS Employees or who have already completed the online application, do not need to complete it again. If you are not sure if you completed the application, please complete it this year so we will have a record of it.
Login info:
-
All volunteers at the school must complete a background check.
-
To access the volunteer background check form please visit the Cabarrus County Schools website. Under ‘Useful Links’ there is a link for CCS Volunteers. Follow this link and select ‘Volunteer Now’ to access the background check form. BACKGROUND CHECKS ARE NOW GOOD FOR 2 YEARS.
-
-
Print out and complete a Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct form and return to Mr. Singer. By signing the form, volunteer applicants acknowledge they have read the Code of Conduct and agree to the expectations set forth by CCS.
-
Please send an email to communications@chargerbands.org indicating you have completed the application.
Thank you for your support!
Marching Band Fees
As explained in the Band Handbook, participation in marching band requires each student to pay two annual fees: a $500 marching band fee and a $10 school fee. If you have multiple siblings in marching band the same year, the band fee is reduced to $250 for each sibling after the first.
These fees are due based on the agreed schedule.
The $10 school fee should be made by check payable to Cox Mill High School.
The $500/$250 marching band fee may be paid either by check or credit card.
Checks should be made payable to "Charger Bands" and include your student's name and your phone number in the memo field. Checks may be delivered by
-
giving it to Mr. Singer or the Booster Club Treasurer at one of the monthly Band Booster meetings, or
-
mailing it to
